Eco catalyzers: Research for Teachers​

Become a leader in eco-education. With mentorship from University of San Diego faculty:​​​

Spend the summer conducting research on environmental sustainability efforts in either water, waste, or energy.

Translate your research experience into engaging NGSS-lessons for your middle-school class, refined across the academic year.

3

Join a community of practice and collaborate with other teacher-scholars to spread eco-conscious learning throughout your school and district.

Eligibility

  • Availability to engage in summer research and academic year workshops. See FAQ for dates.

  • Interest in advancing as a eco-educator.

In-Service Teacher

Middle-school STEM teacher from a district in San Diego County (recommendation: 2 teachers /school)

Pre-Service Teacher

Student enrolled in a teacher preparation program with the intention of attaining credential to teach a STEM subject at middle-school level.

STIPEND

$8,000

SUMMER ENGAGEMENT

6 Weeks

ACADEMIC YR. ENGAGEMENT

4 day-long workshops +

5 virtual sessions (2hrs. each)

When to Apply?

Applications reviewed from April 9th, until all spots are filled

Decisions shared from April 18th, until all spots filled.
